How do I use this test?
Set your duration, click Start, then speak into OpenTypeless. The app will transcribe your voice — paste the result into the text box. Hit Stop when finished to see your WPM.
What is a good voice WPM score?
Average speaking speed is 120-150 WPM. If your transcribed WPM falls below that, the STT provider may be introducing errors or latency. Aim for 100+ WPM with clean transcription.
Why is my WPM lower than expected?
Error corrections, pauses, and re-dictations lower your effective WPM. Try a faster STT provider like Deepgram (200-400ms latency) or improve audio quality with a dedicated microphone.
