What does 'Bring Your Own Key' (BYOK) mean?
BYOK means you sign up directly with STT and LLM providers like Deepgram, OpenAI, or Groq and use your own API keys in OpenTypeless. This gives you full control over your costs and data. OpenTypeless never sees your API keys — they are stored locally on your machine in an encrypted configuration file.
How much does typical voice input usage cost with BYOK?

What is included in the Pro plan?
Every user gets a small free cloud trial so they can test official voice and AI polish without adding API keys. Pro and Lifetime include 100,000 cloud words per month for hosted speech-to-text and AI features, plus cloud backup, Pro scene template packs, and priority support. BYOK usage remains unlimited on both plans.
Can I switch between Free and Pro at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade to Pro or cancel your subscription at any time. If you cancel, you keep Pro features until the end of your billing period, then revert to the Free plan. All your settings, custom dictionary entries, and provider configurations are preserved regardless of your plan.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes. If you are not satisfied with the Pro plan, you can request a full refund within 7 days of your subscription. After 7 days, you can still cancel at any time and your subscription will not renew. See our Refund Policy page for full details.
