How is WPM calculated?
WPM is the number of space-delimited transcript words multiplied by 60 and divided by measured seconds. Punctuation alone is excluded. This method does not segment languages written without spaces.
How do I compare dictation with keyboard typing fairly?
Use the same task and include correction, formatting, and review time in both measurements. Count usable final text and enter your own measured keyboard WPM. This calculator does not assume a fixed speed gain or measure recognition accuracy.
