Custom Dictionary
Add project names, technical terms, and pronunciation hints, then check their spelling in actual dictation and polished output.
Adding Words
- Open OpenTypeless settings and navigate to the Dictionary tab.
- Click 'Add Word' and enter the term (e.g., 'Kubernetes', 'PostgreSQL').
- Optionally add a pronunciation hint to help the STT provider.
How It Works
The desktop pipeline loads your dictionary words and supplies them to the text-polishing prompt. Treat entries as vocabulary guidance: they do not retrain an STT model or create executable voice commands. Provider-specific recognition hints and pronunciation support depend on the selected speech route. Test the raw transcript and polished output separately.
Pro Tip
Add a small set of frequently misrecognized terms and test each in a complete sentence. Check names, casing, identifiers, and meaning after polishing. If a term is still wrong, adjust the entry or a correction rule and repeat the same sample; adding a dictionary entry does not guarantee recognition.
